Carneros Hills Chardenet Durell Vineyard Chardonnay
|Region||California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast|
Dating back to its first use in 1849, Chardenet was the original spelling of Chardonnay in France. Over time, the word disappeared from the French lexicon as the current spelling became preferred practice. To honor the grape variety's rich heritage, Carneros Hills Winery has reclaimed this historic spelling producing limited amounts of single vineyard Chardonnay to showcase our unique expression of Chardenet. The famed Durell Vineyard is without question, one of the most lauded Chardonnay crus in California and is situated in the foothills of Sonoma Mountain, a few miles northwest of Coteau Blanc. he wine displays the vineyard's stony soils, showing a tangy streak of minerality.
